  Statistics - Old Criteria

Are you truly comparing "apples to apples?"

The Calgary Real Estate Board discontinued using this criteria in May 2007. These statistics are compiled using the old criteria which included single family homes, condos, and mobile homes in the city of Calgary and surrounding district. Please be aware that these numbers do not include "Total MLS" which includes Country Residential and Rural Land. Country Residential and Rural Land listings were never included in the "Old Criteria" statistics, and they are not included here.

**Ab Rate = Absorption Rate. This is the number of months it would take to use up all the inventory if no new listings came on the market. An Absorption Rate of 1.8 to 3.5 is considered a Balanced Market. Less is a Seller's Market. More is a Buyer's Market.
Absorption Rate = #of homes on the market
                           # of sales in past 30 days
